Palaniswamy “Raj” Rajan
Managing PartnerPalaniswamy “Raj” Rajan is the co-founder, chairman and CEO of Virima Technologies, Inc, a leading Data Center & IT Operations software developer, as well as a managing partner at CTW Venture Partners.
Mr. Rajan has co-founded several ventures including eLaunchpad, LLC, an incubator and early stage venture fund focusing on Internet infrastructure; Vigilar, Inc, a leading network security technology integration firm; and Emerald Systems, a boutique technology consulting firm. Another previous success, VerticalOne, a financial aggregator, was sold to S1 Corporation in 1999 in a deal valued at $166 million.
Mr. Rajan is an active angel investor and has invested in over 34 companies since 1998.
He serves/ed on the board of directors of some of his portfolio companies and on the advisory boards of several early stage technology firms in the USA and India.
A leader in the business community, Mr. Rajan was instrumental in establishing the Atlanta CEO Council, serving as the chairman of the board from 1999 through 2011 and serving currently as board director. He also co-founded and serves on the board of directors of the Atlanta Chapter of TiE, a global mentoring organization for entrepreneurs, and as president of TiE Atlanta. Mr. Rajan served on the Carter Center’s Board of Councilors, a leadership advisory group that serves to promote understanding of and support for The Carter Center and its activities among private-sector opinion leaders in Georgia.
Mr. Rajan was honored as one of Georgia Trend’s “40 Under 40” Rising Stars in 2000. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering and a Master’s degree in Computer Science, both from the Florida Institute of Technology.
